“Michael Golden: Opportunities in Journalism” [ Atlantis Ballroom ]

This is a special session highlighting the challenges of journalism in the digital era. Michael Golden, the Vice Chairman of The New York Times Company and President of the company’s Regional Media Group, will share his experience as top executive with the New York Times Company.
Established in 1851, the New York Times Company is one of the most important media organizations in the world. It includes The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, The Boston Globe, 15 other daily newspapers and more than 50 Web sites, including NYTimes.com, Boston.com and About.com.
The newspaper has won nearly 100 Pulitzer prizes, one of the most prestigious journalism awards in the US.
Mr. Golden joined The New York Times Company in 1984. In 1997 he was elected to the board of directors and named Vice Chairman. From 1997 to 2003 he served as chief administrative officer. He served as publisher of the International Herald Tribune from 2003 to 2008. In 2009 he was named President and Chief Operating Officer of the Regional Media Group.
