Main Session: “What kind of news will we consume in the future?”

Tuesday, 10 May 2016 03:00 PM – 04:00 PM

With the proliferation of social media platforms, news websites and online media offerings from traditional media entities, the volume of online news content is growing and the industry is evolving, as is competition for viewership and readership. What’s more, news content is being consumed on a variety of mobile devices as the number of the digital media platforms continues to increase.

  • How is the definition of news and newsworthiness changing in today’s digital media industry?
  • Where is the online news media industry heading?
  • Can a mobile audience of billions be a chance for online media to have a positive impact and be a force for good?
