Hussin Al-Qahtani is the Head of Media for the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Protection for Saudi Arabia. He is also the Editor of ‘Al Marsad’ Magazine published by the General Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Protection, and hosts the ‘Environment Around Us’ show on Saudi Arabia radio.
In addition, Al-Qahtani is also the Managing Director of the Information Technology and Communications Development programmes at the General Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (Saudi Arabia), Media Advisor of PERGSA, the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, and a part-time Media Expert for the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment 2008.
Recipient of several awards including the Tunis International Audio Media Award for his radio programme ‘Environment Around Us’ (2005), and the Award for Excellence and Innovation in Environmental Communication from the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment (2009), Al Qahtani has also authored the book ‘Twenty Years of Giving in 2002’ that tracks the progress of the environment.
