The Editor-in-Chief of Al Arabi Magazine, Sulaiman Al Askari has served as Secretary General of the National Council for Culture and Arts in Kuwait and supervised the publishing of cultural journals including ‘Kitab Alam Al Marifa’ (world of knowledge) and the series ‘Al Masrah Al Al Alami’ (world theatre). He was also the Editor-in-Chief of the Kuwaiti magazine ‘Majallat Alam Al Fiker” .

In addition to his role as professor at the Kuwait University from 1972 – 1978, Al Askarri has been a member of committees and editorial boards of associations, newspapers and magazines in Kuwait and across the Arab world. He has authored several books on a variety of cultural topics, and participated as well as lectured at various cultural symposia, both regional and international.

He holds a Master’s degree in History from the University of Cairo and a Ph.D in the History of the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula from the University of Manchester, UK.
