Belal Fadl graduated from the Media College at Cairo University in 1995 with honors. He worked in journalism for years, first as an intern journalist at Rose AL-Youssef magazine and later as an editor for 'Al Dostor' newspaper. Following a stint as a TV producer in 'ART', he joined the MBC office in Egypt as an assistant director. Belal has also worked as the general editor for Al-Giel newspaper, participated in founding the 'Cairo' newspaper issued by the Egyptian ministry of culture and worked as its editor-in-chief for a few months before he left journalism completely to focus on screenwriting. He has scripted screenplays for 17 movies to date, receiving the best screenplay award from the Cairo Film Festival. He currently presents a weekly program on Dream TV titled 'Aseer Al-Kottob'. He has also written five books including two collections of short stories.
