Qenan Al Ghamdi is currently the editor in chief of Al Sharq Newspaper. He studied Arab literature in the Faculty of Teachers in Al Ta’if, Saudi Arabia. He started his career in 1980 as a reporter for ‘Okaz’ newspaper. He subsequently went on to become one of the three assistant chief editors. He was also the editor-in-chief for ‘Al Bilad’ for two years, and later for the ‘Al Wattan’ newspaper. Al Ghamdi writes a daily column in ‘Al Wattan’ newspaper on current issues. He is a member of the Saudi Journalists Association and member of the Arab Association for Press Freedom. He is also a board member of Aseer’s print, media and publishing house that issues ‘Al Wattan’ newspaper and currently supervises ‘Damah’ Press.
