A Jordanian journalist and writer, Ramadan Al Rawashdeh is the Director-General of Jordan News Agency 'Petra'. He has held a number of journalistic and media positions including president of the Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies 'FANA', PR coordinator of the office of the chief of the Hashimite Royal Court, as well as media advisor to the Prime Minister until 2005. He is the recipient of the Naguib Mahfouz Award for Arab Novels (1994), awarded by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Culture for his novel 'Alhamrawy'. During his career, Al Rawashdeh has accomplished several media and journalistic challenges as a writer, journalist and a media professional. He has also held positions on many Arabian media platforms including the Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai daily, Beirut–based al Mustaqbal daily newspaper, and Paris-based Radio Orient. A prolific writer of novels and short stories, Al Rawashdeh holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Yarmouk University, Jordan, and a Diploma in Advanced Writing from the Thomson Foundation, Cardiff, UK.
